Easiest ways to make matcha

Prepared Matcha

Matcha is one of the healthiest and most unique beverages on the planet.  It contains amino acids like L-Theanine which, combined with the caffeine of the green-tea plant, provides a distinctive feeling of calm alertness and clarity, akin to a sense of being in a 'flow state'.

Imagine: Starting each morning with this enlightened clarity and focus, as opposed to the teeth-grinding and crash-inducing jitters of your morning cup of coffee.

Don’t let not having a whisk, (or the time to use one) stop you from enjoying the phenomenal health benefits and experiencing the clear, calm and meditative energy that only matcha can provide you with everyday.

Here are two very simple ways to prepare your matcha each morning, even on the go.  Just make sure to use high-quality, organic matcha as it will both taste better and have better overall effects on your body and mind.

Side note: I recommend 2-3g or so of matcha per serving.  Think a slightly heaping teaspoon, with one cup or about 400 ml of water.  If too strong or weak, adjust accordingly.

1) The Cool-Brew/Shakey Method:

This is by far the simplest and my favorite method for creating delicious matcha fast.  I do this every single morning when I wake up and love the refreshing quality and simplicity. It takes all of about 30 seconds. Afterward I feel focused, invigorated and ready to face the day with equanimity.

Instructions:

A) Just add matcha and cool water together into a shakey cup, bottle or tumbler (think a glass or plastic bottle, a jar, a BPA-free plastic shakey cup, or a sealable tumbler-anything you can seal and shake!).

B) Leave some room at the top for the water to move and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds until it all looks dissolved and is foaming at the top.

C) Open the lid and drink! :).

As long as you're using high-quality organic matcha it will taste delicious, not too bitter, even a bit naturally creamy! Mmmm (I actually prefer the taste of matcha cool).

Simple huh? But what if your prefer matcha hot or warm?  Well you're still in luck and can still prepare it super quickly...

2) The Hybrid/Hot Shakey Method:

A) Follow the same directions as cool-brew but only add a tiny bit of cool water before shaking (maybe a quarter of a cup). *IMPORTANT: Make sure you're using cool water for this part (unless you're tumbler or bottle is vacuum-sealed and meant to hold hot beverages).

B) Shake vigorously until the matcha mostly dissolves into the ¼ cup of water.  Then, transfer the contents to a container or cup meant for hot beverages.

C) Finally, add 3/4 cup of boiling water over the ¼ cup you just made and it stir it with a spoon!

That's it!

I promise you, your matcha will taste and dissolve exactly as if you had used a whisk, and it will take you less than a quarter of the time and effort!
